PRESIDENTIAL SPIRITS PROFILES

As part of the rollout of these novels I am recording a series of short (or not st short) videos profiling many of these “presidential spirits.” While all had their flaws, our protagonist in the novel draws inspiration from among their very best qualities.  These videos will highlight some of that, and will also focus on other ways these larger than life figures embodied many of the themes in the novel.  In each case the video will be done at a location that is somehow meaningful and worthy of the “spirit” being profiled – which provides a nice excuse to make these personal pilgrimages.  I hope you enjoy them.

Cheers!

The introductory video for my novel, Presidential Spirits, at Lafayette Park across the street from the White House.

Profile #3: John Quincy Adams, “Old Man Eloquent,” filmed at Mystic Seaport in front of a replica of the schooner ship Amistad.

The Introductory video for the unveiling of the second novel, Another Round. Had to do this in front of the Capital.

Profile #1 - Martin Van Buren “Old Kinderhook,” because he was born in a saloon. Had a couple pet tigers way before Netflix made it cool.

Profile #4: James Madison, The Father of the Constitution. No better setting in the world to serve as the backdrop for his profile than venerable Independence Hall.

Profile #2: The Gipper - Ronald Reagan. I figured no better spot than Tinseltown to talk about him.

Profile #5: George Washington. Fiimed at some iconic Washington-related venues, including Mount Vernon, the banks of the Delaware, Fruances Tavern and Federal Hall.
